The purpose of this correspondence is to let you know the outcome as we know it of today’s meeting in respect of the insurance requirements in support of the O-A Visa.
The various Government Departments are working together to co-ordinate the insurance requirements for the above visa and the proposed launch date of these requirements. In this regard they need to consider all Thai Embassies located overseas ensuring that the communication when available is capably managed by those staff members handling these types of Visas.
In this regard we would expect to receive further communication from the Insurance Regulator within the next 2 to 3 months.
It is important that your clients are assured not to panic and await the published insurance needs, as it is possible that existing health insurance policies may qualify. At this point in time persons seeking the O-A Visa do not require any evidence of health insurance to qualify for their O-A Visa – new or renewal.
Each of your clients need to assess their personal needs, considering their ages and make a personal choice when to purchase health insurance coverage.
We will keep you informed immediately we know more.
